La Vida Cotidiana, Cuba (2012-2013)
La Habana y Trinidad
I spent four weeks each year in Cuba in the late spring/early summer of 2012 and 2013. My time was dedicated to documentary photography and helping documentary photography students carry out their projects, introducing them to people, neighborhoods, and aspects of Cuban culture that they wouldn’t know about otherwise. I was selected for the role based on my past experience in Cuba, studying there for three months during my undergrad. I completed a number of photo essays in 2012-2013, but some of the images that give the best idea about daily life in the misunderstood country are the ones that don’t fit neatly into any particular project.
